This questioned was raised during a recent speaking engagement. As I was asked if Acting Training and/or classes could in fact HELP Kids from 10-16? As, for this is the typical age in which more cases are reported. my Answer: Yes. Reasons why? By studying the human condition, much like a form of therapy, Acting training, when done correctly, can be incredibly accurate and helpful in helping children become more aware of their feelings/emotions. Thus, allowing them to free up, or express it.
Note: Acting classes should be held in an environment where children feel SAFE. The key to a good instructor is, one you and your children trust. Look at credentials, and go with your gut feeling. Other reasons connected to depression in children is a lack of social network and confidence. Acting training increases their confidence and builds self esteem. Results: You will find your children more social, more aware, and believe it or not, their grades will most likely increase. For more on this topic, contact Josh at anytime.

The launch!!! And here we... Go! The most common question I get asked is "How long will I have to study?" The answer: That really depends on you. Where you are in your life, career and how much you are willing to work. On average though and most of us actors do not like being average, I would say about 3-6 months before you really get the hang of it.. Perhaps one year before you are ready to audition. Again, really depends on you and what your level is.
Like, how well you listen, take direction, and how much you understand. Once you begin to know the basics of breaking down a scene, or any form of dialogue, you can then begin to grasp the concept of acting and put it into ACTION. |
